Learn More General Transfer Credits Military and Veterans When do classes start? We offer 3 semesters per year, split into two 8-week sessions. You can start classes in ANY of the 6 sessions per year. An Enrollment Counselor can help you determine the best time to start. Are there set class times? No. Course work has weekly due dates; but you can do assignments any time that fits your schedule and life. Your professors and coach are available to assist you throughout the week. What is a Success Coach? A Success Coach is part academic advisor (which courses to take, when, and in what order, etc.), part tech support rep, and part personal cheerleader! Every student is assigned a personal Success Coach to guide you from day 1 through graduation. How do you keep tuition so low? With no athletic department, dorms, or buildings to maintain, we’re able to focus our resources where they matter most — providing a high-quality education delivered by experts in their fields. Can I get credit for prior learning or experience? Yes! In specific cases, there is a path for earning college credit for professional training and credentials. Through a Prior Learning Assessment (PLA), students might earn credits toward Elective or General Studies requirements after being admitted to an LAPU program. An Enrollment Counselor can help you evaluate your specific situation. For California Community College students, do you accept the Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT)? Yes! Students transferring from a California Community College who choose the Associate Degree for Transfer path (either Associate of Arts for Transfer or Associate of Science for Transfer) are: Guaranteed admission to L.A. Pacific University. Guaranteed transfer of 60 units from an ADT program into the corresponding LAPU program, if available. Do you accept credits from out-of-state schools? Though California schools remain the most common for transferring credits, LAPU evaluates credits from all appropriately accredited 2- and 4-year colleges across the United States, and many international institutions as well. In California, LAPU has had students transfer from 112 of the 114 California Community Colleges! How many credits can I transfer in? You can transfer up to 70 credits from a 2-year college, or up to 90 credits from a 4-year university. The average LAPU bachelors-level transfer student transfers in 45 credits. Is LAPU a Yellow Ribbon school and G.I. Bill eligible? Yes! LAPU is designated as a Yellow Ribbon school and G.I. Bill eligible. Is LAPU a Military Friendly university? Yes! LAPU was named a Top-10 Gold level military friendly university for its dedicated support of active-duty and veteran service members and their spouses. Do you offer a military discount? Yes!
